Most of DAVE Embedded Systems products are tagged with a label indicating the serial number. Serial number is usually printed on a white plastic label, close to the bar code (see also the following pictures where they are highlighted by red ellipses).

Example of serial number of SOM

Example of serial number of carrier board

Serial number identifies uniquely a board and it is composed by two parts:

  • the first part - composed by a string of alphanumeric characters - identifies the board model and main hardware characteristics
  • the last part is composed by four alphanumeric characters, representing a progressive counter in hexadecimal notation.

It is worth remembering that serial number is independent from ConfigID/UniqueID feature.
