The USB-C PD protocol starts providing 5V to the system, this voltage is enough to boot the CPU and execute the bootloader.
The bootloader starts the PD handshake with the wall adapter and chose the input rail voltage between 5V, 9V, 12V , 15V or 20V.
By default the Evaluation Kit sets the input to 12V for LCD backlight compatibility, see the [[ORCA SOM/ORCA Evaluation Kit/Interfaces and Connectors/LVDS|LVDS section]] for more details.
