=== Linux From Scratch ===
[http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ Linux From Scratch] is a way to install a working Linux system by building all components of it manually. In particular, [http://trac.cross-lfs.org/ Cross Linux From Scratch] allows the cross-compilation of a Linux root file system for embedded targets. The advantages to this method are a compact, flexible and secure system and a greater understanding of the internal workings of the Linux-based operating systems; this comes at the price of a time consuming and quite complex process.
