Deploying Embedded Linux Systems

Boot scripts
The boot scripts (typically /etc/inittab and /etc/rc.sh) must be modified in order to automatically execute some operations at boot such as launching user-space applications and mounting file systems (i.e. Sysfs).

Please note that init implementations can differ: Busybox offers its own version while other distributions, like Angstrom, can provide the classic System V version. More modern distros, like Ubuntu, implements Upstart, a complete replacement of the init daemon.
