It is possible to configure the GPIO pin directly at Linux userspace using [https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/gpio/sysfs.txt sysfs] even if it is discouraged: see [[DESK-MX8M-L/Pheripherals/GPIO#GPIO sysfs deprecated | below ]].
