= Introduction =
The Yocto build ([https://www.yoctoproject.org/) system Yocto Project]] is an open source collaboration project that provides templates, tools and methods to help creating custom Linux-based systems for embedded products. It is derived from OpenEmbedded, but it provides a less steep learning curve, a graphical interface for Bitbake and very good documentation. DAVE Embedded Systems provides the so-called recipes/meta-repositories required to build all the software components (bootloader, kernel and root file system) with the Yocto build system.
