System boot[edit | edit source]

The boot process begins at Power On Reset (POR) where the hardware reset logic forces the ARM core to begin execution starting from the on-chip boot ROM.

For the iMX6 processor and the selected boot mode on DAVE's SOMs, please find more information at Boot AxelLite and Booting from NAND wiki pages.

Boot switch[edit | edit source]

There is a specific 2x1x2.54mm pin header on the SDV04 carrier board for selecting the storage boot device.

Inserting a jumper on the left position header, the internal storage device is selected as a primary boot device: i.e. NOR SPI or NAND flash.

At the opposite, if it is not inserted, the external SD card (properly programmed and inserted into the microSD connector) is used as a primary boot device.
